Talking to others about how we've been wronged in the past may give us some comfort for the attention it brings, but it comes at a heavy price. Even though we may have been wronged in the most horrible way, to continue to readdress the hurt and pain brings the experience and its feelings back into our present. Treat old hurts as learning opportunities and move on.
